Wandering Arts delivers creative learning experiences through artist-led workshops & helps to provide the Social, Moral, Spiritual & Cultural (SMSC) aspects required by the Ofsted framework.
We use the arts to enrich all subject areas and topics making links to meet the requirements of all Key Stages of the National Curriculum in exciting and imaginative ways.

Wandering Arts offers both skills-based and topic-based programmes:
- Skills-based arts programmes cover a range of approaches and activities; whilst developing a skills base, the emphasis is also on ideas. Our artist-led workshops offer students and staff the opportunity to explore and develop their artistic skills and creativity.
- Topic-based arts programmes use the arts as a tool to enrich the curriculum; artist led projects can focus on specific areas or subjects, in the curriculum enabling students to explore through hands-on, applied activities.
Wandering Arts offers a range of ready-made creative learning programmes which can be tailored to the particular needs of the individual schools or group, or we can create a totally bespoke project.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
The hands-on professional development workshops will equip staff with new skills that can then be transferred back into classroom practice. This is particularly useful for KS1 / KS2 staff who may lack confidence with creative skills. Staff will have the chance to develop their own creativity and develop learning activities which can be used across the curriculum.
CPD sessions can focus on practical skills or creative planning and how to integrate art into other subjects.
These sessions can include independent and/or team building activities, for professional and personal development.

Art and Design
‘Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. A high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design.’
‘Design and technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.’
Music
‘Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. A high-quality music education should engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement.’
Drama
(Quote from English Programme of Study)
‘They can communicate their ideas and emotions to others.’ ‘Pupils have a chance to develop culturally, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually.’
